Student Engagement Lessons from the Pandemic and UChicago Consortium on School Research

During the pandemic, the UChicago Consortium studied Chicago Public Schools students’ engagement in grades 4-12 during the pandemic. I partnered with the Consortium to bring this research to educators who work with low-income students of color through the Prep Period podcast. Listen to students from Mikva Challenge share what engages them in learning—or not. And hear from the Consortium’s executive director Elaine Allensworth about the student-engagement lessons that educators can use in a post-pandemic world.
